TK Glamping is the brainchild of Roger Lamoureux (owner) and his life partner Brigitte Thom. After several years in development, TK Glamping will begin its inaugural year of operations in spring of 2026. We aim to provide high-quality glamping to our clientele in a beautiful, natural environment.
Business Description
Tatawaw (Plains Cree for “Welcome We Have Room”) Kanata (means “Sacred Place”) specializes in unique, adult only, no pets outdoor accommodation. Our glamping units are made up of stylish, above-ground, hard wall rustic tents with queen-sized beds. Each tent has its own adjoining two-piece bathroom unit. Our pricing structure includes accommodation and an European style breakfast. Breakfast can be delivered directly to your site upon request or enjoyed at our dining area. Our tent sites are located in an amazing wildlife corridor. They all have private grass spaces, patios and fire-pits (BBQ's available upon request). Wi-Fi is available. Other onsite amenities include two, 3-piece bathroom suite trailer (shower-sink-toilet) and one outdoor shower. There is a communal dining area and a cook shed for those who prefer to cook for themselves, under the stars. Our socializing areas have fire-pits, horseshoe pits, meditation sites and open grass areas for yoga. Our natural Amphitheatre and Stage area can be rented for special group events. We also offer a third-party booking service for guests requesting professional health & wellness practitioners. Depending on the type of treatment the practitioner may offer their services either onsite or in their clinic. We invite all of our guests to relax, get back to nature and re-energize themselves while visiting on these sacred indigenous lands. To enhance our guest experience, there is the opportunity of being introduced to the history, culture and interactive events offered by our indigenous hosts. In addition, we can customize your stay with third-party, year-round activities. These services are provided by qualified guides and agents operating in the beautiful Okanagan valley. TK operates from mid-spring, through the high season of summer and into early fall, depending on weather conditions.
OKIB Acknowledgement
As we gather and operate, as guests we respectfully acknowledge that our glamping “Head of the Lake” site is located on traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan peoples' ancestral lands. Guests will be introduced to our hosts’ traditional customs and asked to respect these OKIB protocols while visiting.
OKIB Land Acknowledgement
TK also recognizes that we are guests of the Gregoire family and their son, Carl, who is the steward of the land. We honor the land that overlooks the spectacular views and landscapes of the surrounding areas of the North Okanagan Lake. Our operations and tent locations are nestled along the north side of Deep Creek coulee. This area is considered a wildlife corridor to several species of birds, mammals, reptiles, and fish. We think this is the perfect setting to experience a Canadian natural outdoor environment.
